Shelter's Young Person's Team is an expert unit that promotes standards in policy and services for under 25-year-olds.

Our materials aim to keep professionals abreast of the latest strategies and resources in the field. We have produced a range of guides, briefings and toolkits which are focussed on, or for use with, young people.

Youth housing strategies

The Government requires that local authorities take a strategic approach to the housing of young people. This page looks at developing a youth housing strategy. Read more 

National Youth Homelessness Scheme

In March 2007, the government launched its National Youth Homelessness Scheme (NYHS).   The aim of the scheme is to prevent and reduce youth homelessness and find ways to end the use of bed and breakfast accommodation for 16 and 17 year olds. Read more 

Shelter's Youth Panel

Shelter's Youth Panel is made up of young people who have experienced homelessness, housing problems or the care system. Read more 

Young runaways

Shelter has worked with young people and care workers, to identify issues around running away from care and to highlight examples of good practice. Read more
